CO government not keeping a close-enough eye on oi...

The Colorado Sun reported on Jan 29th, that CO's Oil and Gas Conservation Commission failed to collect production reports from operators across the state for at least 2 years (likely a lot longer). This is MILLIONS of lost fees revenue. Not to mention the loss of a critical piece of oversight of a massive state-wide, powerful industry.

Now, I'm not in favor of busy-work and I'm sure that producing these monthly reports and submitting them to COGCC is burdensome for the operators (there is probably a lot of work that could be done to make the whole process more efficient for everyone) - however, that does not excuse the operators nor COGCC from following state law. This report from the CO Sun is damning across the board.
