Our February book selection is Heat & Light by Jennifer Haigh. It is the story of a small town in Pennsylvania grappling with the pros and cons of being situated on a source of natural gas. The book examines all sides - those who benefit and those who don't and those who are just caught in the middle. The author does a good job of weaving in other current crises like the opioid epidemic, income inequality, environmental conservation, etc.
We will be discussing this book (and more!) on
Feb. 26 @ 9am at The Artful Cup.
In the meantime, let's kick-off the discussion right here. Reply to this post with your thoughts as you work your way through this important and timely book.
